Recently, we’ve noticed a number of our clients hit by a surge in bot traffic from Singapore. It has a unique user agent of “Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_15_7) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/145.0” and a screen resolution of 1366×1366.

This is skewing GA4 reports and in some cases breaching the GA4 BigQuery export limit.

How To Fix

Ideally, this would be blocked by Cloudflare (BigCommerce’s or the customer’s own O2O solution). Cloudflare’s own instructions for doing this are available here. An example of the settings for this bot would be:

Interim Measure

If you don’t have O2O Cloudflare, we have added a bot-blocking option in Tag Rocket that identifies the Singapore bot and disabled all tracking in Tag Rocket. Note that this can’t fix tracking outside of Tag Rocket, like BigCommerce’s own Analytics:
